Throughout this journey, we’re encouraged to grow, learn from our steps, and celebrate our wins and achievements. Becoming your best self is a result of continual progress that leads to a healthier, more fulfilled version of you. The Essence of TransformationThe journey to personal growth and transformation doesn’t begin with external fixes but with an internal shift. From trying to master willpower or seeking quick fixes. Rather, it’s about embracing challenges. It’s about meeting ourselves where we are, and fostering lasting change, and finding freedom from within. This philosophy forms the core of my “Fit From Within” approach, which was inspired by my journey detailed in Chasing Perfection: A Journey to Healing, Fitness, and Self-Love. Scripture for the Soul“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2 NLT This scripture reminds us that our growth process necessitates changes in our thoughts and feelings about our journey. It inspires us to prioritize growth over perfection, indicating that transformation is a series of progressive steps instead of a final destination. Asking the Right QuestionsWhy do we seek change? What does it mean to us to be healthy and fit? Understanding the motive behind our desire for change is the first step toward meaningful progress. Reflecting on what being our best self entails helps align our actions with our deeper aspirations. A Practice of AwarenessRecognizing our beautifully imperfect selves and aiming for progress involves a daily practice of self-discovery and self-compassion. It’s about learning, growing, letting go, and, most importantly, beginning anew each day with the intention of moving closer to the person we wish to become. As C.S. Lewis says; ‘Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when we look back everything is different.’ Let’s emphasize the importance of daily practice and remember that our goal is progress, not perfection. Our journey of self-improvement consists of small, meaningful steps that lead to significant change.
